Welcome to ASID Maryland Chapter!
ASID is a community of people—designers, industry representatives,
educators and students—committed to interior design.
Through education, knowledge sharing, advocacy, community building
and outreach, the Society strives to advance the interior design
profession and, in the process, to demonstrate and celebrate the
power of design to positively change people’s lives. Its more than
38,000 members engage in a variety of professional programs and
activities through a network of 48 chapters throughout the United
States and Canada.
What is ASID?
The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) is the oldest and largest professional organization for interior designers. ASID
was established in 1975, resulting from a merger of two
interior design associations formed in 1931. ASID establishes a common identity for professionals and businesses in the field of interior design.
Why ASID?
ASID provides education for design practitioners that helps their businesses conform to environmental and safety standards. ASID design consultants receive the most current information on appropriate materials, technology, building codes, government regulations, flammability standards, design psychology, product performance and more. Armed with this knowledge, ASID designers protect the health, safety and welfare of people in interior environments.
